Forgotten Fortress 14

Description

Theme: Ruins in the forest, the Munida fortress in Pula, Croatia.

Curiosity:
Munida is one of the Austro-Hungarian fortresses left from their era all around Pula and Istria. This one was baddly damaged during WW2, and was forgotten in the forest for half a century. It stands on top of the hill that looks at the sea. It's strategical value was immense at some point, but since then, all it was was a beautiful pile of rock in the middle of a forest on top of a hill. It's been cleaned and marked properly only recently. And not restored at all, but that is what makes it so interesting for me. Ruins of times past hold greater appeal to an artist inside me than a clean and whole fortress ever could.

Oh and, I had trouble with the light there. The sun was too strong, making some parts burn, other too dark. I took a lot of photos, waited for dusk to come and then took some more. This was one of the very few photo sessions made for stock photos. I thought of using them only myself, but then when I decided to open this profile, I wanted to share them. They're technically not the best of what one might do, but they may be of some use to you, too!

Statement: Most of these photos are technically not very good. Some are dark, some over-exposed, some a bit blurry or the composition's off. They're also mostly not touched-up at all. You'll have to do that your self if you see fit, and you will. :) (Smile)

STOCK RULES: There are no rules! Use the stock as you wish. I'd like to see your artwork, of course, but there's no obligation. Enjoy creating! ;) (Wink)
